Beard Combs Exposed: What's the Best Beard Comb for You?
In 2014, after catching a snag in my Beard hair with my cheap plastic comb, I took a trip to my local store to find a replacement comb. This time I was on the hunt for something a little more reliable that wouldn’t feel like it was about to tangle, bend, or break every time I ran the comb through my hair.
In my search for the Best Beard comb, all I saw were carbon copies of the comb I had just snapped. Frustrated with the uninspiring selection, I knew that there had to be a better way to comb my hair and beard, and with that, the ManCave UAE vision started.
Though hair combs and hair brushes have been around for more years than anyone can remember, the material and shapes have remained relatively unchanged — cheap, flimsy, and susceptible to easy breakage.
What I discovered after the trip to the store is that these typical plastic store combs produce static electricity which will damage your hair, especially during winter when the air is very dry. Often these combs will give off a tingling feeling (static electricity) and makes damaged hair easier to break — this had to change.
WHAT'S THE BEST HAIR COMB MATERIAL?
Choosing our primary raw materials to craft our combs from was an easy choice. Wood naturally generates less static electricity than plastic, has immense structural strength, and has aesthetic presentation value far beyond even the finest plastic combs. We've developed our combs and brushes from a number of high-quality raw wood materials detailed below.
Sandalwood
Our most popular wood material for our combs, sandalwood offers a very rich, noticeable Sandalwood scent. This is not something that we add; it’s the natural scent of the wood and a great added benefit. Not only does sandalwood smell great, it also has natural anti-inflammatory and anti-itch properties due to the natural presence of Sandalwood essential oil. Those who suffer from skin psoriasis which usually shows itself in the form of inflamed skin, beard itch, or hair dandruff can benefit from sandalwood.
Sandalwood Key Benefits
Refined and polished feel compared to a plastic comb
Reduces hair damage and split ends
Anti-static - Less frizz and static discharge
Sandalwood soaks in oils over time — perfect for beard oil users
Pear Wood
Unlike sandalwood, pear wood has virtually no noticeable scent to it. What it lacks for in a scent, pear wood makes up for in strength. Pearwood combs are dense and hard yet still porous enough to soak in your favorite oils or pomade and distribute them evenly throughout your beard or head hair.

Bamboo
Bamboo is probably the most well-known wood. The greatest asset to bamboo is its strength while maintaining a lightweight and easily maneuverable form.
Bamboo Comb Benefits
The lightest of the wood family. Easy to lift and shape your hair
Renowned for its superior strength while still maintaining an agile form
Distributes Beard Oil, Pomade, Beard Balm and Beard Conditioners Evenly
